Welcome Our Spring 2019 Interns!

We are so excited about our Spring 2019 Intern Class!

Mary Otoo interned with us last semester and is continuing her internship through this semester. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 2017 with a B.A. in History with Honors. She is currently an Executive Assistant at Guggenheim Productions. She has interned at Kellogg, Hansen, Todd, Figel and Frederick PLLC where she conducted research and wrote research summaries for legal cases, and has also interned at the Scrappers Film Group where she conducted research for multiple investigative documentary film projects on social justice issues in the South Side of Chicago. She is currently in the midst of applying for law school and has already begun interviewing with different schools.

Rose Collins is a second semester Senior at George Washington University, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Sociology. She has interned at the U.S. House of Representatives for the late Congresswoman Louise Slaughter and for EMILY’s List as a National Outreach and Training Intern. She is the Founder and President of the organization, Ignite at GW, that discusses how women can prepare to run for public office, as well as the VP for GW Student Association, and works on the University Hearing Board for Justice that works to enforce the Code of Student Conduct. She is passionate about child advocacy and hopes to have contributed to helping children have a good environment to go home to.

Dinali Weeraman is a second semester Senior at the University of Maryland, majoring in Government and Politics with a minor in Nonprofit Leadership and Social Innovation. She has interned as a Congressional Liaison for the Embassy of Sri Lanka, as a Legislative Intern for Congressman John Delaney, and also as a Multimedia Intern for the Center for Strategic and International Studies. She also works as a tutor for the athletic department at Maryland and as an Ambassador for the Behavioral and Social Sciences center. During this internship, she hopes to learn more about the law in an effort to see if she wants to go to law school.

Charlotte Lie is a second semester freshman at Georgetown University, majoring in Medieval History with a Minor in Theology. She led an anti-sexual violence and sexual harassment effort at her high school, involving working with her school board and also implementing a Restorative Justice Program. During this internship, she wants to learn more about the law also in an effort to see if she wants to attend law school.
