Voices of Resilience: A Purple Thursday Conversation with Michelle Horton

Join DC Volunteer Lawyers Project on Thursday, October 17, 2024, for a powerful and thought-provoking evening in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This special event will feature author Michelle Horton, discussing her newly published book Dear Sister, a heartfelt exploration of sisterhood, survival, and the enduring strength of women impacted by domestic violence.

The conversation will be moderated by DCVLP Board member, Kamil Shields, who is a Partner at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and brings a unique legal perspective as part of the team that represented Nikki Addimando in her landmark appellate case. Kamil’s experience advocating for survivors of domestic violence will provide a compelling framework for this discussion on resilience, justice, and healing.

The event will be hosted at the Washington, DC office of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, a firm deeply committed to pro bono work and supporting survivors of domestic violence.

Each ticket includes a complimentary copy of Dear Sister, which will be distributed at the event, with an opportunity to have your book signed by the author.
