Established in 2020 to recognize the generosity of donors making annual leadership gifts of $1,000 or more and Benefit sponsors at the $2,500 level and above, the Amplifying Voices Society serves as a cornerstone of financial support for DCVLP. This unrestricted funding provides the highest level of financial flexibility for DCVLP, enabling us to deliver pro bono legal services to more than 2,100 indigent clients annually who are survivors of domestic violence, at-risk children, immigrants, and members of other vulnerable populations in DC.

Support from the Amplifying Voices Society directly enables DCVLP to:

  • Recruit and retain highly qualified supervising attorneys who guide and mentor DCVLP’s volunteers across all practice areas.
  • Hire programmatic staff, such as our dedicated advocates, who assist clients with non-legal needs including crisis intervention, on-going emotional support, safety planning, and referrals to partner organizations.
  • Provide clients with the highest quality legal services through ongoing volunteer training and professional development opportunities, including cultural humility and trauma-informed care.
  • Expand our reach, helping more clients escape abuse, through new programs such as our Immigration Practice and Legal Clinics.

In addition to being recognized personally, Amplifying Voices Society members are invited to special AVS events, receive a website icon for their online bio, receive a certificate of membership suitable for framing, and receive special acknowledgment in various DCVLP publications throughout the year.
