In addition to providing survivors with immediate safety from their abusers, Civil Protection Orders can also provide the survivor with other forms of relief. In this live discussion, panelists will cover services offered to domestic violence survivors through their CPO or cases in the Domestic Relations Branch.
These forms of relief may include child support orders, orders that the Respondent only visit with the child at a supervised visitation center, and orders that the Respondent participate in counseling courses such as domestic violence classes or substance abuse treatment.
This training will provide attorneys with a better understanding of how to connect their survivor clients to additional forms of relief through their Civil Protection Order and in their custody and divorce matters.
